Indigenous Coastal Innovation Challenge | Now Open
Introduction
The Indigenous Coastal Innovation Challenge (ICIC) supports Indigenous-led climate resiliency projects in coastal communities throughout Canada. Aligned with Ambition 2035, it prioritizes community-driven solutions and aims to reduce barriers for Indigenous applicants. The ICIC program will support project concepts that foster ocean health and enhance a community’s ability to mitigate or to adapt to climate change. Building on the OSC’s Two-Eyed Seeing Initiative, ICIC follows a two-phased model to support both project concept development and project deployment.
- Phase 1 is expected to begin September 2025. Approved concept development proposals may be eligible to receive funding of eligible project costs to a maximum of $25,000.
- Phase 2 is expected to begin March 2026. Approved project concepts may be eligible to receive funding of eligible project costs to maximums as set out in OSC Technology Leadership and Innovation Ecosystem programs.
