The City of Saint John invites you to join in Menahqesk 2025, a vibrant celebration of National Indigenous Peoples Day on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Place Fort La Tour from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m.
National Indigenous Peoples Day honours the rich heritage and diverse traditions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.
This special community event offers a powerful, immersive experience through music, dance, and storytelling.
What to Expect
- Opening Blessing & Welcoming by an Indigenous Elder
- Honour Song performed by a Traditional Drum Group
- Pow Wow Dancer Exhibitions showcasing mesmerizing movements
- Inter-tribal and Social Dances—you’re invited to participate
This free and inclusive event welcomes everyone to connect, learn, and celebrate Indigenous culture in a spirit of unity and respect.
