The news rocked the country.
In Val D’or Quebec, police with the Sûreté du Québec are accused of abusing several Aboriginal women by trading cocaine for sexual favours, beating them or dropping them off on the edge of town. Chief Ghislain Picard joins Nation to Nation host Nigel Newlove to talk about his upcoming meeting with Quebec Premier Phillipe Couillard to see what the province should be doing about this.
Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau isn’t afraid to step up to a microphone to talk about issues she’s passionate about. That includes missing and murdered Indigenous women. This week Grégoire-Trudeau was at the Wabano Health Centre in Ottawa for a fundraising event. She stopped to talk with Nigel about the #mmiw issue. Then, NWAC President Dawn Harvard talks about having an advocate at 24 Sussex will help push the issue forward.
