Last week, federal Minister of Justice Sean Fraser granted an appeal in the case of Russell Woodhouse, overturning Woodhouse’s conviction of manslaughter and ordering a new trial.
This is the first posthumous appeal granted in Canadian history — Woodhouse died in 2011.
