Sydney Harbour land transferred to Cape Breton Regional Municipality
Assisting communities with development through port property ownership

The Honourable Mark Eyking, Member of Parliament for Sydney–Victoria, Nova Scotia, on behalf of the Honourable Marc Garneau, Minister of Transport, today announced the transfer of a parcel of land in the Port of Sydney, Nova Scotia, to the Cape Breton Regional Municipality.
The property is called the Confined Disposal Facility and consists of 97 hectares of partially infilled land, which was created when the harbour was dredged in 2012.
The transfer takes effect immediately and will enable development at the site by the municipality.
