INVITATION to Re-Scheduled Event

Please join us for an information sharing and discussion session on The UNDRIP Act. The United Nations Declaration on The Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.

When: Thursday, February 16, 2023, at 6:00pm – 8:00pm

Where: Maqiyahtemok Center – St. Mary’s FN

Hosted By: T.J. Wilson from Atlantic Policy Congress St. Mary’s Economic Development

This event will be open to anyone interested in learning more about UNDRIP, and having the opportunity to have your questions and voices heard by T.J. Wilson on behalf of the Atlantic Policy Congress of First Nations Chiefs. The info collected will be used to compile a report based on the voices and concerns of Indigenous people across Wolastokuk and Mi’kma’ki, that puts forth recommendations to the Federal Government regarding the Implementation of the UNDRIP Act, across Canada.

There will be two $50. Tim Horton Cards to be won. One as a door prize and the other for one lucky participate who has taken the opportunity to fill out the online survey prior to the event.

Light refreshments and snack will be available.

The organizer has also invited anyone to produce a testimonial regarding how they feel UNDRIP will contribute to a better quality of life for you, your family, or community where you are from. It can be written, video, or voice recording, as well as anonymous if that is your preference. These testimonials could potentially become part of the record on how Indigenous people view the UNDRIP Act as beneficial to the protection and enhancement on how we can better utilize Indigenous inherent rights for our People and our Nation.
