New chief says she wants input from band members, will hold referendums

Matilda Ramjattan has been re-elected as chief of the Lennox Island First Nation on P.E.I..
She received 144 votes on Saturday. Timmy Bernard received 87 and Stevie Bernard 79.
Janet Banks and Gerry Thomas are the new on-reserve councillors, replacing Debbie Bernard and Stevie Bernard.
Mary Moore-Phillips was elected as the off-reserve councillor.
Ramjattan said she is thrilled to be offered a second three-year mandate, but said it will be a “group effort.”
