Public Advisory: Workforce Development Roundtable Discussions Set for September

The final series of Workforce Development Roundtable Discussions for 2015-16 will take place in September throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. These sessions are a key component of the Workforce Development Action Plan, which is an initiative of the Population Growth Strategy, and are designed to gather input regarding the employment and human resources needs and challenges throughout the province.
To date, approximately 180 people have participated in 16 Workforce Development Roundtable Discussions. A full list of remaining roundtable discussions can be found in the attached backgrounder.
Members of the local business community, post-secondary institutions, employers, labour organizations, municipal and local leaders and representatives of community groups are all encouraged to attend. The public is also invited to express interest in participating by emailing WorkforceDevelopment@gov.nl.ca.
Live Here, Work Here, Belong Here, A Population Growth Strategy for Newfoundland and Labrador, 2015-2025is the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s 10-year plan to support individuals and families. The strategy will ensure investments and programs are aligned to encourage individuals to choose Newfoundland and Labrador to live, work and raise a family. The Population Growth Strategy is supported by four action plans covering the main elements of population growth – workforce, families, communities and immigration.
