Premier Furey and Minister Dempster Congratulate New Leadership Team of Miawpukek First Nation

The Honourable Dr. Andrew Furey, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, and the Honourable Lisa Dempster, Minister of Labrador Affairs and Minister Responsible for Indigenous Affairs and Reconciliation, congratulate the elected Chief and council members of Miawpukek Mi’kamawey Mawi’omi.
The following individuals were declared elected on June 4 by Miawpukek Mi’kamawey Mawi’omi:
- Chief: Brad Benoit
- Council: Frank Benoit, Susan Hill, Mike Drew, Barry Joe, Yvonne John, Fernando Jeddore
The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador thanks the former members of the council for their role in serving the interests of their community. The Provincial Government also extends appreciation to all individuals who advanced their names as candidates in the election.
