The Canadian government will provide 150-thousand-dollars in funding for Indigenous wellness and culture feasibility studies in New Brunswick.
They money will support studies by Natoaganeg First Nation and Neqotkuk First Nation to determine the need for facilities to provide culturally safe spaces for members to gather and connect with their history, culture and language.
More specifically, the spaces would help to address the root causes of violence against Indigenous women, girls and LGBTQ-plus individuals.
The funding will be provided through The Cultural Spaces in Indigenous Communities Program.
