Nunatsiavut hit hard by budget – Labradorian

Criticism for the provincial budget is coming in from all quarters and Nunatsiavut is no exception.

President Sarah Leo said in a news release she believes the budget hits her region harder than any other part of the province.

“Our communities are among the most impoverished in Newfoundland and Labrador,” Leo said.

‘ Thhe cuts announced in this budget will only add to the growing economic disparity that exists between Nunatsiavut and the rest of the province,” she added.

“Many of our people are not going to be able to adequately feed their families or have any quality of life.”
