The Nunatsiavut government says it is pleased that the 2016 federal budget will provide $15 million over two years for affordable housing.
In a news release, the Nunatsiavut government says it’s a good first step in dealing with a severe housing crisis in the communities, particularly Nain and Hopedale.
The budget proposes $64.5 million over five years, and $13.8 million per year to expand Nutrition North Canada, which provides northern residents with improved access to perishable nutritious food.
