NationTalk Hits 5,000 on Twitter and Continues Connecting Indigenous Communities Through Social Media
June 8, 2015, Toronto – Social Media is a continuously growing vehicle not just for personal expression, but for information sharing and community development. We know information is a valuable currency and connecting urban, rural and remote Indigenous peoples with the most current and relevant information is key to both progress and prosperity.
On June 7th, 2015 Canada’s largest Indigenous network, NationTalk organically reached its 5,000th follower on its twitter account. Providing information such as job listings, media releases, tenders, events and other relevant information to our Indigenous communities has allowed the network to become a well sought out tool and source of emerging information in real time.
“Adding social media to our network in the early years has provided our subscribers and Partners with yet another vehicle for accessing information on the go. We are very excited that NationTalk now reaches out to 5,000 twitter followers daily over and above our existing channels such as our morning brief and website properties.” says President and CEO, Donald Barraclough.
