Dressing up as an Aboriginal person for Halloween?
You may want to seriously rethink that, says the Canadian Federation of Students.
The national students’ group has launched a new campaign called “Not Your Stereotype,” which urges students to think carefully about whether their Halloween costumes appropriate Aboriginal cultures.
“It’s not ok to wear somebody else’s culture as a costume,” said Chasity Delorme, the group’s national Aboriginal rep.
