My Tour and Adventure with Greenpeace: A Sunshine Coast Community Presentation and Dialogue
I was fortunate to tour with Greenpeace Canada on May 19 to May 28 on the Esperanza. I spent 10 glorious days with 5 other Aboriginal Delegates throughout Canada and 28 of the Greenpeace sailors of the MY Esperanza (translation Hope). Our goal and mission was to inform, dialogue and actively participate in the two pressing environmental campaigns People vs. Oil and Save the Great Bear Rain Forrest. During this tour we sailed the inside passage up Haida Gwaii and travelled the open sea on the route back to Victoria. I became a witness to the ocean society of countless whales, humpbacks, orcas, dolphins and porpoise. I now am a witness to our open Pacific Ocean and I pledge to share what I now have witnessed regarding our Oceans. The People vs Oil Cause is a campaign worth your attention. We invite you to join us, ask questions, dialogue and connect with this pressing environmental and socio-economic concerns related to our reliance on Oil as a fuel. Communities up and down the West Coast have a say. We can direct our future. Included in this presentation is the four days with Haida Gwaii people, their rich culture, community life and deep connection to the land and ocean. Structure: Power Point Presentation and a Dialogue Discussion on the People vs Oil Campaign & First Nations Conservation practices and methods.
Presentation Includes: Bannock and infused chilled teas by CasPier Catering. Drumming and Singing
