MEMBERTOU — Cape Breton’s newest golf tournament will tee off in September in support of Cape Breton University student recruitment efforts and KidSport.
The Membertou Open is the result of a partnership between CBU Athletics, Membertou First Nation and the Hampton Inn Sydney.
An estimated $25,000 is expected to be raised in the first year of the three year partnership between the three organizations.
KidSport will receive 25 per cent of those proceeds to help kids under-18 pay registration fees and buy equipment to participate in sports.
