The Honourable Sherry Gambin-Walsh, Minister Responsible for Women and Gender Equality, will host a flag-raising event to mark the beginning of Pride Month in Newfoundland and Labrador. The event will take place on Monday, June 2, at 10:00 a.m. in the main lobby of the Confederation Building, East Block.

The event will be emceed by the Honourable Sarah Stoodley, Minister of Government Modernization and Service Delivery. Special guests include Inuit Elder Emma Reelis; Dr. Ailsa Craig, co-founder and co-chair of Quadrangle NL; Sarah Worthman, founder and executive director of the NL Queer Research Initiative, and singer-songwriter Karla Pilgrim.

Parking will be available in front of East Block, and attendees are asked to enter via the main entrance facing Prince Philip Drive. Those requiring an accessible entrance may use the blue zone parking behind East Block and enter through the Public Gallery Entrance.

Pride Month is an annual celebration of the many contributions made by the 2SLGBTQQIA+ community to history, society, and cultures worldwide.
