Carney was non-committal on self-governance over fisheries in Atlantic Canada
Mark Carney, like other Liberal leadership hopefuls, has been zig-zagging across the country offering some insight into how a Liberal government would operate under him.
Since hitting the campaign trail two weeks ago, the former banker has not mentioned reconciliation or laid out a vision for working with Indigenous Peoples. A Cree elder did say a prayer at his launch in Edmonton, and Carney offered a land acknowledgement before speaking in Halifax Friday.
He, along with other candidates, was given an opportunity to address Indigenous issues with APTN News recently. Neither Carney nor Chrystia Freeland, who many consider to be frontrunners in the race, immediately accepted.
