Islanders can offer their advice on the 2015-16 provincial budget during four roundtable sessions next month, says Finance, Energy and Municipal Affairs Minister Wes Sheridan.
“As we approach our goal of a balanced budget, we want to continue the discussion with Islanders on how to get there,” Minister Sheridan said. “Should we spend more on some programs and services, and less on others? Should taxes be lower or higher, and which ones? Above all, do our spending priorities align with those of Islanders?”
Anyone interested in attending these pre-budget roundtables can register by calling (902) 368-5501 before January 30. The sessions will run from 2 to 4 p.m. as follows:
• February 4, Charlottetown (storm date of February 13);
• February 6, Montague (storm date of February 19);
• February 11, O’Leary (storm date of February 18); and
• February 12, Summerside (storm date of February 20) – French interpretation services available.
Islanders can also provide budget feedback through:
• an online questionnaire at www.gov.pe.ca/budgetsubmissions; or
• in writing – prior to 4 p.m. on February 20 – by e-mail at budgetsubmissions@gov.pe.ca (use this online form as a starting point) or by mail at:
