Government of Newfoundland and Labrador Supports West Coast Investment Attraction

The Honourable Andrew Parsons, KC, Minister of Industry, Energy and Technology, today announced total investments of $59,411 for three projects in the western region which will help boost the area’s potential for investment attraction, as well as provincial food security.
The City of Corner Brook will receive $46,090 to secure a consultant to conduct an industrial park feasibility study and to enhance accessibility at Bartlett’s Point Park. In a separate project, the city will also receive $7,500 to engage professional services to conduct a feasibility study on the establishment of a farmers’ market in Corner Brook.
The Qalipu Mi’kmaq First Nation will receive $5,821 to support Qalipu business owners through increased marketing, production of content and member business profiles within the western region.
Corner Brook is a vital economic hub on the west coast of Newfoundland and Labrador, serving as a centre of industry, commerce and innovation. The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is investing in projects in this region to help strengthen the local economy.
