Gas tax relief coming for Labrador’s isolated north coast, says Randy Edmunds – CBC

The jump at the pumps has created sticker shock for motorists in Newfoundland and Labrador, after the provincial government doublted its gas tax last week.
But the MHA for Torngat Mountains says government will ensure they don’t go much higher for his isolated region.
Randy Edmunds says he’s secured a guarantee from the provincial government that his district will get a break on the gas tax.
According to Edmunds, the average price prior to the gas tax was $1.34 a litre. In addition, a gas price freeze in his district was coming off around the same time the new provincial gas tax would be added.
