FREDERICTON (GNB) – People are invited to enjoy a day of entertainment and family fun during New Brunswick Day celebrations on Monday, Aug. 1, in Fredericton.

“New Brunswick Day is an ideal time to celebrate why there is no better place to be than here, in our province,” said Tourism, Heritage and Culture Minister Tammy Scott-Wallace. “You are invited to attend and enjoy the fun-filled day at the New Brunswick legislature. It is a perfect way to make summer memories.”

Celebrations will take place from noon to 10 p.m. and will feature a fireworks display around 9:45 p.m. over the Westmorland Street Bridge.

The event will feature family-focused activities, along with multicultural performances by New Brunswick artists and musicians, including:

•           Ktopatapasipon (“bringing the people together”) with Elder Hubert Francis
•           Matt Comeau
•           NB Black Artists Alliance – spoken word by Chevelle Malcolm
•           One8tea
•           Jessica Raye Trio
•           La Patente
•           Pretty In Pink
•           David Myles

More information about the event is available online.
