The Assembly of First Nations unveiled a sweeping list of economic and social development priorities on Wednesday called Closing the Gap. It calls on the next federal government to engage with First Nations communities in order to close the gap between indigenous and non-indigenous Canadians.
PARLIAMENT HILL—The Assembly of First Nations unveiled a sweeping list of economic and social development priorities on Wednesday for parties contesting the federal election, but National Chief Perry Bellegarde signalled he does not expect a great deal of pickup by Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Conservative Party.
