Experience STU –  a university preparation camp for Indigenous youth  – is a three-day program designed to offer Indigenous youth entering grades 10, 11, and 12 the opportunity to discover what it’s like to be a student at St. Thomas University.

This free camp runs from Thursday, May 4 to Sunday, May 6.

Indigenous youth from across the province will experience first-hand what it’s like to be a university student by living in a St. Thomas residence, touring the campus, dining at the campus meal hall, learning from award-winning professors, taking part in fun activities, engaging in Wabanaki cultural teachings, and becoming familiar with the beautiful city of Fredericton, NB.

This program is a great way for youth to learn about available post-secondary opportunities, to prepare for their future transition into university, and to be informed about the supports and services available to them, as they enter these institutions.

Experience:

  • Classes from STU professors
  • A tour of the campus
  • Living in a dorm
  • Dining at the campus meal hall
  • Fun activities on campus
  • Explore the city of Fredericton!
  • Cultural teachings from the Elder-In-Residence
  • Indigenous craft activities with local artists
