Exciting weekend for youth coming up in the NunatuKavut territory!
August 5, 2016
NCC, along with our partners from Health Canada and the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, will be holding a youth weekend called “Our Youth, Our Leaders” in Dead Islands, Labrador (outside of Charlottetown) on August 20 and 21.
Geared for youth aged 12-18 in our NunatuKavut communities, activities include berry picking, mussell picking, storytelling and hiking.
This event will be in celebration of the British Inuit Treaty of 1765.
The registration deadline is 4:00 p.m. on August 15. We encourage interested youth to register early because space is limited! For further information, please contact Melita Paul at 709-949-0320 or mpaul@nunatukavut.ca or Darlene Wall at 709-896-0592, ext 238 or dwall@nunatukavut.ca
We are also looking for Elders and seniors to help out as it a great opportunity to share traditional knowledge. If you are interested, please click on the link below for details:
