Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada has not made any changes to the election process that saw the entire Esgenoôpetitj First Nation band council dismissed earlier this month over vote buying in the 2014 election.
And Marianne Belair, a department spokeswoman, said no changes are planned for the election on June 11.
This, despite the fact that candidates buying votes in exchange for cash has been an ongoing problem in Esgenoôpetitj and other First Nation communities across Canada.
