The Honourable Dr. Scott Reid, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, has announced the following relative to Environmental Assessment – Part 10 – of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Crown Zone 3 Five-Year Forestry Operating Plan
Amendment #2 District 5 (2022-2026)                                                  (Reg. 2359)
Proponent: Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture

The proponent is proposing an amendment to the Crown Zone 3 Five-Year Forestry Operating Plan (2022-2026). The project is proposed in District 5, approximately 7.2 kilometers North of the town of Benton. The amendment would create a new harvest block covering 61 hectares, which would be balanced by reducing harvesting elsewhere in the district. The undertaking was registered on June 9, 2025. The deadline for public comment is July 14, 2025, and the minister’s decision is due by July 24, 2025.
