Nunatsiavut President Sarah Leo is pleased to announce the appointment of Tyler Edmunds, the Ordinary Member for Postville, as Speaker of the Nunatsiavut Assembly.

Mr. Edmunds was sworn-in as Speaker this morning during a sitting of the Nunatsiavut Assembly. He replaces Sean Lyall, an Ordinary Member for Nain, who was appointed Minister of Culture, Recreation and Tourism on Tuesday.

“I am confident that Mr. Edmunds will be an excellent Speaker of the Nunatsiavut Assembly,” says President Leo. “His youth and enthusiasm will bring a fresh approach to this important role, and his dedication and passion will be helpful in advancing the goals and interests of the Nunatsiavut Government and all Beneficiaries of the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement.”
