Cheers & Jeers: Thirteen graduations jammed into two days – The Guardian

CHEERS to the hundreds of young Islanders who graduated this month after successfully earning their Grade 12 diplomas. We wish them the best of luck as they move on to university, college and other career options. But JEERS to whoever was responsible for scheduling the high school graduations. There were nine on Thursday alone, and four more on Friday. Thirteen in two days! It was a mad scramble to get photos and plan coverage. Whatever happened to the usual two or three ceremonies a night held over five or six days?

JEERS to those self-absorbed golfers who keep spitting sunflower seeds on the greens at P.E.I. golf courses. Other groups following Mr. Neanderthal have to waste time picking up seedpods before they can putt because of some inconsiderate lout. If anyone sees a golfer munching on sunflower seeds, please advise them there are hundreds of acres of fairways and rough to discard seeds. Leave our greens alone.
