February 29, 2016
Canada’s Premiers will meet in Vancouver, British Columbia, on Wednesday, March 2. The meeting will take place at the Pan Pacific Hotel.
“I look forward to chairing the Winter Meeting of Canada’s Premiers,” said Dwight Ball, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador. “As Chair of the Council of the Federation, I am pleased to be leading discussions on the economy and climate change among my fellow Premiers.”
A media availability session with the Chair will take place following the meeting. Premiers will meet with the Prime Minister for a First Ministers’ Meeting on March 3. The Prime Minister has also invited Premiers to attend a meeting with Indigenous leaders on March 2.
The Council of the Federation comprises all 13 provincial and territorial Premiers. It enables Premiers to work collaboratively, form closer ties, foster constructive relationships among governments and show leadership on important issues that matter to Canadians.
