Band-owned gas bar going up in $2m Waycobah project – The Chronicle Herald

Waycobah — Construction on a $2-million gas bar is underway in Waycobah First Nation and is expected to be completed by late spring or early summer.
We’koqma’q Chief Rod Googoo said the project will also likely include a Tim Hortons outlet and a strip mall.
It will replace Rod’s One Stop service station — a 25-year-old business on the Trans-Canada Highway that has become a landmark in the community.
Like Rod’s One Stop, it will be band-owned and operated, said Googoo.
“It’s a major project we’d been planning for the last couple years. We wanted to build a state-of-the-art gas station.
