(Ottawa, ON): Assembly of First Nations (AFN) National Chief Perry Bellegarde will present his vision for closing the gap in quality of life between First Nations people and non-Indigenous Canadians at a press conference this week where he will outline the AFN’s priorities for the upcoming federal election.

National Chief Bellegarde will speak to the gap in quality of life experienced by First Nations and Canadians and the priorities for action to close the gap. The AFN will publicly release its document ‘Closing the Gap: Federal Election Priorities for First Nations and Canada’ which seeks specific commitments from all parties.
The AFN continues efforts to ensure all parties understand that First Nations priorities are Canada’s priorities and must be addressed.
