MONASTERY – Antigonish District RCMP is investigating an incident where racially and culturally objectionable graffiti was spray painted on a home in Monastery.
At some point on Tuesday night, March 1, unknown suspect(s) spray painted the residence and shed on a property in Monastery. The graffiti was racially and culturally insensitive and included profanity and derogatory comments about Aboriginal people.
The investigation is ongoing, and police say this is not a random incident.
Antigonish District RCMP is asking anyone who may have witnessed these crimes, or has information about these crimes, to contact the RCMP non-emergency line at (902) 863-6500, Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or by texting TIP202 + your message to ‘CRIMES’ (274637) or by using Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca. Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers could qualify for a cash reward of $50 – $2000.
