‘An honourable path’: A journalist turns to teaching – UNB

After years in the fast-paced world of daily journalism, Julia Wright (BA’07) has traded her microphone for a classroom at the University of New Brunswick (UNB) in Fredericton, embarking on a career in education.

For a decade, Wright was a broadcast fixture in her hometown of Saint John, captivating audiences with her insightful interviews, well-crafted news stories and history features.

“I remember thinking when I was in Grade 4 that as long as I had a pen and paper, I would never be bored,” Wright said.

“Writing was always my escape, my relaxation.”
