After years of hearing calls from parents and loved ones, the federal government called for a Royal Commission into the numbers of missing and murdered Indigenous women in Canada.

The call came Tuesday in the foyer of the House of Commons.

Bev Jacobs was the president of the Native Women’s Association of Canada when the first Sisters in Spirit report first brought the issue of #mmiw to the forefront. She joins N2N host Nigel Newlove to give her perspective on the inquiry.

For years Carolyn Bennett hounded the ruling Conservatives over an inquiry, she joins Nigel to discuss what she expects to happen over the next few months.
