    Develop relationships with established and potential stakeholders and service providers to facilitate integrated services and/or pertinent specialized information to enhance program effectiveness and outcomes for women & families.
  • Advocate for and with women to navigate systems including, but not limited to, justice, education, health and social services
  • Recruit and support a Women’s Advisory Council, arrange and coordinate regular meetings, training.
  • Develop an annual plan for women’s activities, special events & initiatives (Take Back the Night, MMIWG, International Women’s Day, etc)
  • Liaise and partner with Women’s Shelters within Nunatsiavut with a goal to share ideas, resources and
  • work collaboratively on women’s programs and events
  • Engage and coordinate with community staff to deliver programming, special events, advocacy and support to women.
  • Keep abreast of current issues regarding the Status of Women in Nunatsiavut communities by engaging community members, collecting relevant statistics and reviewing relevant documents
  • Represent NG in regional, provincial, national and international committees related to women’s issues Travel throughout Nunatsiavut to hold public consultations regarding women’s issues
  • Provide monthly activity reports
  • Secure funding through grant and proposal writing for event and program implementation
  • Other related duties as required


  • Bachelor degree in a related field i.e. sociology, social work, human services with 3 years of related experience. Combination of relevant education and/or experience will be considered.
  • Extensive experience in dealing with general public and good oral, interpersonal, written, communication and organizational skills
  • Have excellent knowledge of women’s issues in today’s society and Inuit culture


  • Bilingual in Inuktitut and English


  • 4% vacation pay with the option to accrue
