The Product Owner is responsible for the day-to-day management of one or more product verticals within Smile CDR. The Product Owner will work in an agile/blended environment and be able to follow scrum methodology to ensure continuous delivery for customers. The role of the Product Owner is to ensure alignment of a shared product vision, create user stories, maintain a groomed backlog and maximize the value of the product and the work of the team. They are empowered and responsible for the success of the product.

Responsibilities:

  • Envisioning the product through the Product Management team and stakeholders
  • Acting as a Subject Matter Expert for the product(s) owned
  • Lead multiple products simultaneously through product development lifecycle
  • Creating alignment of a shared vision and overseeing release among the Product, Operations and Development teams
  • Act independently and judiciously to ensure that your products/projects are completed within scope, on time, and on budget whenever possible
  • Adhere to best practices with internal/external teams
  • Clearly communicate timelines, including milestones, deadlines and deliverables
  • Co-develop (with team members) timelines, and monitor and adjust them as necessary while communicating with the team members and the client as changes occur
  • Facilitate communication between yourself and all internal and external stakeholders in order to maintain good client relations
  • Establish short term and long term strategies with problem-solving
  • Lead a scrum team and manage product life cycle from conception to development to release
  • Creating user stories and co-creating user acceptance criteria
  • Grooming and prioritizing the backlog to best achieve stakeholder goals and missions
  • Acting as the voice of the customer in all interaction with our technical teams
  • Optimizing the value of the product and the work of the team
  • Collaborating with stakeholders
  • Contributions to the product roadmap, design and vision
  • Planning releases with appropriate stakeholder and technical teams
  • Lead meetings, and clearly communicate minutes and decisions back to the respective teams at the end of the meetings
  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams, including creative and technical resources
  • Ability to work with outside vendors to make sure they are working efficiently and effectively to deliver on-time and on or under budget
  • Provide feedback and coaching to team members, including ability to establish and build healthy working relations and partnerships with teams and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Business, Healthcare, Engineering, Technology, or related field
  • ScrumMaster or Product Owner certification an asset 
  • Healthcare industry experience is an asset
  • Agile experience required
  • 5+ years of experience in a product or project management capacity in medium to large-scale initiatives, with a track record of success (on-time, on-budget, goals met), including all aspects of business requirements gathering and implementation of solutions for Healthcare and/or medical field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and cultivate strong partnerships with clients, technical teams and internal business partners
  • Foundation knowledge of operating systems, application development, database management, interface engines, information systems principles, and related methodologies.
  • Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for gaining the cooperation and support of others.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written English communications skills
  • Experience in team management and team building, providing proven ability to form, build and manage effective teams.
  • Ability to work in a multi-functional team environment with rapidly changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to do effective presentations to large and small groups.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision focusing on results.
  • Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
  • Ability to interact with people from all disciplines with all levels of experience.
  • Experienced in engaging with clients in a professional manner
  • Interest in start-ups and new technologies
  • Strong knowledge in documentation and collaboration tools such as G Suite, Google, Hubspot, Confluence, SmartSheet, Lucidchart and other document, project and processing tools.
