An in-depth study of the sources, norms, and content of doctrine within The United Church of Canada, with a special emphasis on ecclesiology, Christology, and the sacraments.

About the Instructor: Rev. Dr. Catherine Faith MacLean, Senior Minister at St. Paul’s in Edmonton, has served churches across the country. Her writing and teaching as a pastoral theologian take her into the academy as well as across the church. Her degrees are from McCormick, Harvard, and Dalhousie. Catherine had the pleasure of presenting the Aitken Workshop on Preaching at AST in 2017; she has taught at VST and in the University of Alberta Peter Lougheed Leadership College Lecture Series. Currently, she is offering leadership in reVITALize and Then Let Us Sing! our upcoming hymnal. She has published over 30 articles and chapters; together with John H. Young, she wrote Preaching the Big Questions: Doctrine Isn’t Dusty. Her areas of presentation are preaching, formation and morale, and theology. Catherine is a Past President of the Canadian Theological Society, a past Berwick Camp Evangelist, and a delegate to the recent World Council of Churches Assembly.
