We’re on a Path of Reconciliation, But it Takes All of Us’: Residential School Panel at MUN – VOCM

The Harris Centre presented a panel discussion at MUN last night that explored the impact of aboriginal residential schools in the province.

Panelists included Lawyer, Ches Crosbie who represents close to 1,000 survivors of Labrador residential schools in a current suit.

He was joined by Toby Obed who is an Inuk, residing in Hopedale and a residential school survivor. Obed is considered the catalyst of the Labrador class action law suit because he was the first to speak out about his experiences.

Cree Chief, Wilton Littlechild was a guest speaker. Littlechild is a Member of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and also a residential school survivor. He stressed the idea of unity.
