National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women event in memory of the 14 women killed in the Montreal Massacre at L’Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal, Que on Dec. 6, 1989.

For the first time ever a transgender person – Quinn Jesso, right, represented one of the 14 women killed in the Montreal Massacre at a National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women event put off by the Bay St. George of Women Council and held at L.A. Bown Building on Thursday at noon hour. Jesso was standing in for 22-year-old Barbara Daigneault, who was killed during the massacre. To her left is Megan Oliver, a Child and Youth Care Worker program student who also took part in the event.
