CORNER BROOK, N.L. —

Grenfell Campus, Memorial University of Newfoundland in Corner Brook, will be part of an historic event for Canadian theatre on Thursday.
The university is one of four to participate in the National Arts Centre’s live webcast of its inaugural Indigenous Theatre production.
The “Thursday Live (Stream) at the National Arts Centre” will feature “The Unnatural and Accidental Women,” written by award-winning Métis-Dene playwright Marie Clements.

A press release from Grenfell said the play looks at the continuing crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls across Canada.

It follows the spirits of 10 women who bear witness to each other’s lives and deaths as they convene to support one woman’s search for answers about her own mother, who went for a walk and never returned.
