“Families Care Sessions” being offered for Community Members at Eel Ground Child & Family Services

“Families Care Sessions” to be held at Eel Ground Child & Family Services on Tuesdays from 10:00am until 12 noon for community members. For more information contact Joey Godin at the EGC&FS office: 627-4600

About “Families Care”:

This 8 Session program offers education and skills development. Family Members will learn about, discuss and practice such skills as coping, grieving, dealing with emotions, solving problems, setting goals, communicating, setting limits, supporting and responding to the person with a substance use problem and helping children affected by a relative’s substance use. Sessions are about 2 hours long on a weekly basis.

Who can benefit from Families care?

This program is intended for adult family members including partners, adult children, siblings or even friends or ex-partners of people who are engaging or having engaged in problematic substance use and who may or may not be in treatment.

Sessions will be held on TUESDAYS on the following dates:

November 2015:

November 10th, November 17th, November 24th.

December 2015:

December 1st, December 8th, December 15th.

January 2016:

January 5th & January 12th.
