Criminality not suspected in death of woman – RCMP NB
July 31, 2018
The RCMP do not believe criminality was involved in the death of a woman on the Elsipogtog First Nation over the weekend.
On July 28, 2018, shortly after 2:30 a.m., police from the Southeast District RCMP received a 911 call to respond to a residence on Main Street on Elsipogtog First Nation. When police arrived, they found the body of a 22-year-old woman outside the residence. A man was taken into custody, questioned and then later released.
Evidence gathered to date has led police to believe that criminality was not involved in her death. While no longer considered a criminal matter, the RCMP is continuing to assist the Coroner’s Office in their investigation.
